Dear *|FNAME|* *|LNAME|*,

Nurturing and extending connections among regional innovation stakeholders is at the core of BioRN's activities. We bridge members regionally and towards other innovative ecosystems worldwide.
One of the tools that we use to achieve this, is the BioRN Annual Conference. Since 2009, each year the conference has been a valuable source of top information, lively discussions and networking opportunities with international experts from different fields of the life sciences. This year the conference will bring together experts in the field of cell and gene therapies and will address promises and challenges of next-generation approaches in the field.
KEYNOTE Anke Schulte, Head of Cell & Gene Therapy Research and Preclinical Development, Bayer
Carsten Müller-Tidow, University Hospital Heidelberg
Ulrike Philippar, Johnson & Johnson
Michael Platten, German Cancer Research Center

Moreover the call for abstracts for the Young Scientists Pitch Competition is open until June 30. We encourage Master- or PhD-Students and Postdocs to send their research abstracts around the conference topic to have the possibility to pitch during the conference in front of an audience from industry and academia experts and compete for a monetary prize.

Boost your visibility by joining the exhibition area. We have still few spots free.
Connect to the delegation from Leuven and Belgium during the conference and in the pre-evening event. Take the chance to listen to interesting talks, have B2B meetings and network.

Johnson & Johnson Innovation in Heidelberg: We are delighted to partner with Johnson & Johnson Innovation (JJI) to bring their Roadshow in Germany to Heidelberg on 14 June. The JJI team with Nerida Scott, Head of Johnson & Johnson Innovation EMEA, Elena Fernandez Kleinlein, Head of JLABS EMEA and Anthony Gemmell, Head JJI EMEA Pharma Early Innovation Partnering Network will present their collaboration model and are looking forward to meet in-person with entrepreneurs, academics, tech transfer offices, and other leaders in lifesciences innovation from our regional ecosystem. Join the event!

Enjoy the news from our network and mark your calendar for the upcoming events!

AaviGen is a pre-clinical stage biotechnology company focused on the development of curative gene therapies for genetic and acquired cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary diseases. Its lead program employs heart-specific recombinant Adeno-Associated Viruses (AAV) to bring therapeutic genes with unprecedented safety and precision to the diseased heart via a simple one-time intravenous injection.
The company brings together leading knowledge in clinical cardiology& pneumology, virology&genetic vector engineering as well as gene therapy medicinal product development.
medicalvalues turns medical data points into actionable diagnostic insights. The AI-based solution from medicalvalues supports the complex diagnostic decision-making process and enables integrated diagnostics through the interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral aggregation and contextualization of diagnostic data.
By combining real-time patient information (e.g., symptoms, laboratory results, imaging, clinical pre-conditions) and research knowledge (medically validated diagnostic pathways), the system provides recommendations for suspected diagnoses, potential differential diagnoses, and the best possible next diagnostic step.
Large companies have a separate department for structural biology providing expertise for drug development, analytical methods, enzyme optimization, understanding of special publications and marketing. For startups and SMEs, it is usually not economical to employ structural biologists and bioinformaticians, which represents a clear competitive disadvantage. STBIO can close this gap by supporting small and medium-sized companies in the field of structural biology through, consulting, training, and project coordination.
