The first newsletter of the new year provides you with plenty of reading material, because a lot has happened in the BioRN network! 

We have a new colleague in Communications: Nicole Hecht joined the team in December 2023 and is strengthening the Events and PR department - we are delighted! 

With fresh ideas, we are starting another year full of exciting and enriching events for the life science community:
Right after the end of the holidays, we had a premiere with our first M2M - Member to Member special edition "people shaping the life science region" and an entertaining and exciting interview between Julia Schaft and Oliver Stegle, EMBL & DKFZ. Find the recording on our website. 

The first BioRN HR-Breakfast took place on 18 January and brought together HR-experts and -managers in an informal round table. All participants agreed on the added value of exchanging views on HR-relevant topics and the opportunity to tackle the known challenges in recruiting together as well as supporting each other. The HR Breakfast will therefore take place on a regular basis. The BioRN HR community is set to grow! If you are interested in attending the next meeting, please contact Stephanie Füller.

Tonight, Jens Puschhof will kick off the BioRN Lounge event series: We look forward to his impulse on the topic: The Microbiome in Cancer and beyond
Once a month on Tuesday evenings at 7pm, we invite BioRN members to a get-together with pizza and cool drinks and an exciting keynote speech. The next BioRN Lounge on February 27th will be  hosting a speaker from Promega GmbH who will introduce us to the technology „Lumit® Immunoassays for Research“. 

On 6 February, we welcome ValueData for an interview as part of the M2M - Member to Member series. The company uses machine learning and deep learning of driven systems to integrate intelligence into customers´products and solutions. With the help of the complete and in-depth analyses of microscopic images, ValueDatas´ Medical Brick would not only like to accelerate the diagnostic process, but also to support drug screening and drug discovery.
