November has once again brought us some nice growth: we are delighted with the many new members who have enriched our network over the course of the year - and now at the end of the year.
This week sees the start of the Nordic Life Sciences Days: we are giving our network visibility at an exhibition stand in the German Pavilion - in the direct neighbourhood of several member companies.

We have paid special attention to the topic of sustainability with the BioRN Espresso "Sustainability" and will open up a space for further exchange and knowledge transfer in our network. Stay tuned on our Website:

The last BioRN Lounge this year will be another great meet and greet, and the Urban Kitchen will be packed! We are looking forward to the impuls „T-FINDER: rapid production of ammunition in the battle against cancer and infection” by John Lindner, BioMed X Institute.

Our region shines with the latest figures: Twelve researchers from Heidelberg University feature on the recently published list of "Highly Cited Researchers" !
We were also able to inform Dr Jens Brandenburg during the meeting that we are at the forefront of spin-offs and patents in Germany and have built up an excellent infrastructure for innovation and start-ups.

02 | New Members

BIMOVIS supports small and medium-sized companies in the field of structural biology through consulting, training and project coordination.

Large companies often have a separate department for structural biology providing expertise for drug design, protein engineering, development of analytical methods, interpretation of special publications and marketing. For startups and SMEs, it is usually not economical to employ structural biologists and bioinformaticians, which represents a clear competitive disadvantage.

BIMOVIS aims to close this gap and help companies utilize structural biology depending on the available resources. In addition to consultation and project coordination, they support their clients with tailor-made training and courses to acquire internal expertise in the field of structural biology. Thus, their customers become increasingly independent in structural biology and ultimately more professional in protein science.

TET Systems was founded by the inventors of the Tet Technology and holds all essential patents on the technology. The Tet Technology is one of the most widely used methods in the biomedical and agricultural field as it allows tight control over the expression of genes in eukaryotic cells. It has been successfully applied in diverse settings in vitro and in vivo ranging from early discovery to gene therapy applications.

In addition to further strengthening the Tet technology IP position, TET intends to broaden its IP portfolio around innovative R&D technologies by acquisition and in-licensing of relevant IP from third parties.
