Autumn is filled with numerous events and positive news shaping the life science ecosystem:
Congratulations to Michael Boutros on his appointment as the New Dean of Heidelberg Medical Faculty!

We are happy about the launch of the Beteiligungsprogramm Inno Growth BW supporting founders and small SMEs with innovative business models in equity financing as a supplement to the existing start- up funding offer. The BioRN Think Tank Investment has worked intensively with government decision-makers over the past few years to highlight the special needs of founders from the life sciences.

The recently published study by the Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft " 2nd Transatlantic subnational Innovation Competiveness Index" sees Baden-Württemberg in 3rd place of the most innovative regions just behind Massachusetts and California! And last not least the visit of Federal Minister of Health Karl Lauterbach to DKFZ during his stay in Heidelberg on October 24th once again underscored the leading position in cancer research with AI.
Last Tuesday during our Lounge, Andreas Philipp Boudier, Ascendis Pharma A/S shared insights on "TransCon™: an innovative technology platform addressing unmet medical need". Many scientific questions stimulated discussion over pizza and drinks - it was once again a great event with lively conversations and a high level of networking among the participants.
Finally we would like to draw your attention on the upcoming Canadian Mission to Heidelberg on the Prevention and Treatment of Cancer R & D. This B2B platform has been established for companies interested in industrial R & D collaboration opportunities with Canadian SME´s.

BioThrust is a spin-off from RWTH Aachen University developing a next generation bioreactor for the efficient manufacturing of cell therapies and stem cells.

The core of this bioreactor is BioThrust’s unique membrane aeration technology which for the first time enables an effective completely bubble-free aeration of cell cultivations. With this technology, cell yields can be increased by up to 200%. The bioreactor will be available in sizes 250mL to 2000L.
