Spring Highlights at BioRN

Dear *|FNAME|* *|LNAME|*,

Spring has arrived with increasingly warmer temperatures and numerous activities in the BioRN network.
As the European Parliament approved the World´s first major set of regualtory ground rules to govern the mediatized artificial intelligence at the forefront of tech investment on March 13th, the BioRN Lounge on March 19th with Tade Spranger, Counsel at Rittershaus, and his presentation "The EU´s planned AI legislation - relevance for biotech and pharma" was more topical than ever. Not all questions could be answered in the lively discussion that followed. Certainly this remains a hot topic for BioRN in the future.

The BioEurope Spring in Barcelona was another highlight event with great networking opportunities for BioRN and its members. This year BioRN showed up at the INNAXE partner booth, presenting the aligning agenda of Innaxe and Council of European BioRegions - CEBR. The INNAXE project brings together a consortium of 6 cluster organisations to dynamise and accelerate the Life Science and Healthtech innovation community.

The latest M2M Member to Member session featured DGP Intelsius. The company is expert in qualified packaging solutions for potentially infectious substances and temperature-sensitive goods. Further more DGP integrates sustainability aspects into its technologies and services. Here you can watch the recording of all M2M Member to Member sessions on demand. A great opportunity to find out more about the expertise of the companies in our network.
The topic of sustainability will also be addressed in the upcoming BioRN Espresso:
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) modernizes and tightens the rules on companies' obligation to report on social and environmental measures. This also means that a wider range of large companies and listed SMEs are now obliged to report on sustainability. In our BioRN Espresso "Fit for Sustainability Reporting" on April 25th via Zoom, experts provide practical tips and answer your questions. The event will be held in German language.

Marc your calendar for the upcoming BioRN Lounge at April 30th with Andrew Cato and Christoph Grathwol from Karlsruhe Institut of Technology (KIT), talking about "Development of novel androgen and estrogen receptor antagonists for prostate and breast cancer therapy“. Registration will be open soon, stay tuned on our website.

Update BioRN Annual Conference (BAC):
We are currently preparing the conference program around the topic "New Therapeutic Modalities in Personalised Medicine". We will open registration for the conference soon and you can already become part of our BAC community by booking a booth. 02 | New Members

Trans-Duodenal Concepts GmbH developed and manufactures an endoscopic implant which can be used to treat Diabetes Type 2, obesity and fetty liver diseases. It covers the upper part of the small bowel and prevents resorption of carbohydrates and other nutrients in this area, flattens the Insulin serum concentration curve and contributes to an improvement of the diabetic metabolism. Furthermore it reduces obesity and fatty liver diseases (NASH).

To produce this endoscopic device, Trans-Duodenal Concepts GmbH uses special technologies like blow moulding of ultrathin polyurethane foils and others. The products base on unique patents which are approved globally. There in no comparable product on the market.

Trans-Duodenal Concepts GmbH combines clinical experience in surgery, endoscopy, intervention and obesity treatment with know how in plastic technologies, product development, regulatory and marketing.
