another year is coming to an end, a very special one for BioRN: We have celebrated a wonderful 25th birthday, full of success!
In April Evotec's BRIDGE beLAB2122 was launched. Mediated and supported by BioRN, it brings together the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (“EMBL”), the German Cancer Research Center (“DKFZ”), the Goethe University Frankfurt, Heidelberg University and the University of Tübingen. The translational $ 20 m BRIDGE was launched together with Bristol Myers Squibb to provide funding and commercial perspectives for academic asset development. [more]
In August, the BioLabs Groundbreaking event took place in Heidelberg. "With its mix of lab space, offices, and tailored advice, BioLabs will provide young life-science enterprises with exactly the environment they need in order to make their products and innovations a success. This is an offer that fits perfectly to Heidelberg as a center of excellent research”, stated Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, Mayor of City of Heidelberg, during the ceremony. In September, Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann stopped by in Heidelberg with Franziska Brantner, member of German Parliament and Min. Theresia Bauer to discuss with the local biotech industry in our cluster. "The pandemic has not only highlighted how crucial health and healthcare are. It also showed us, using the example of new types of vaccines, how crucial the role of medical innovations is." said Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann during his visit. [more]

And the BioRN Network Assembly was a very nice Yearly Roundup for the members, where the Executive and Strategic Boards have been re-elected and gained new members. During the assembly, the BioRN honorary membership was awarded to Siegfried Bialojan for his outstanding contribution to the regional biotech scene. [more]
