August has been a very intense month and we are so glad to be able to report on so many topics!

The main highligh of the month is for sure, the Groundbreaking event of BioLabs Heidelberg, that took place on August 16 in the Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip). Mayor Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, Minister Theresia Bauer (Minister of Science, Research & Arts of Baden-Württemberg), BioLabs President and Founder Dr. Johannes Frühauf, Andreas Kempff, Managing Director, Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) (as co-partner of the Technology Park Heidelberg GmbH) and BioRN Managing Director Dr. Julia Schaft celebrated with the life-science industrial and academic community this exciting milestone. After its opening, scheduled for late 2021, BioLabs Heidelberg will provide start-up companies with a perfectly managed environment in which they can grow fast. (Press Release)

Just before the event, BioLabs Global announced a strategic partnership with Lilly for the launch of BioLabs Heidelberg. With their new sponsorship of BioLabs-Heidelberg, Lilly is renewing their commitment to continue to support BioLabs and the development of innovative entrepreneurial ecosystems in multiple geographies. Moreover, BioRN is going to support the new Innovation Campus Health & Life Science. As a regional network that unites all relevant stakeholders in health innovation, BioRN represents not only academic partners, but also industrial ones (small and medium-sized enterprises as well as large companies) that will complement the scientific excellence of the new innovation campus especially for the translation of research to patient care and the transfer into technological applications.
