BioMed X Relocates Global Headquarters to Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip) and Enters Partnership with BioLabs
  • BioMed X global headquarters to relocate to LAB22, the newest building at Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip).
  • Heidelberg research teams to operate from BioLabs Heidelberg, located in the same building, with both organizations exploring broader collaboration.

Heidelberg, Germany, 1 September 2026 – BioMed X, a leading innovation engine for pharma, today announced the relocation of its global headquarters to LAB22 at Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip), together with the launch of a global partnership with BioLabs, a leading provider of shared laboratory infrastructure for life science innovators.

Over the coming months, BioMed X will relocate its global headquarters to LAB22, Heidelberg Innovation Park’s newest landmark building for biotechnology, life sciences, and digital innovation. As part of this move, BioMed X’s Heidelberg-based scientific teams will transfer their laboratory operations to the research facilities of BioLabs Heidelberg, located in the same building.

The collaboration in Heidelberg represents the first milestone in a potentially broader partnership between BioMed X and BioLabs. Going forward, both organizations will explore opportunities to combine BioMed X’s expertise in scientific talent sourcing and innovative solution building with BioLabs’ world-class laboratory infrastructure embedded within leading biomedical innovation ecosystems in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

“This marks an exciting new chapter for BioMed X,” said Dr. Christian Tidona, Founder and CEO of BioMed X AG. “Our new headquarters at Heidelberg Innovation Park and our partnership with BioLabs give our researchers access to an outstanding scientific environment while allowing us to focus even more strongly on what we do best: identifying the biggest biomedical challenges, attracting exceptional talent, and building innovative solutions for our partners. At the same time, it brings our scientists closer to the startups, investors, and partners that make this ecosystem work, and gives us a strong foundation for our continued international growth.”

“We are excited to welcome BioMed X as our newest tenant at BioLabs Heidelberg. BioMed X constitutes a unique element of the Heidelberg innovation ecosystem, and their dynamic teams will be a fantastic addition to our startup community. We look forward to supporting BioMed X in their growth in Heidelberg and beyond,” said Dr. Johannes Fruehauf, President & CEO, BioLabs Founder & Chairman, LabCentral.

“With the Heidelberg Innovation Park (hip), we have created an environment where established companies and new ventures can find the right conditions to grow, innovate and thrive. The relocation of BioMed X within Heidelberg is a good example of how we can continue to strengthen and evolve this ecosystem. We want to keep hip an attractive location for companies, research teams and innovators, bringing together the right people, ideas and expertise. Our ambition is to further establish Heidelberg as a leading innovation hub at the intersection of life sciences, AI and IT,” said Prof. Dr. Eckart Würzner, Lord Mayor of the City of Heidelberg.

How is TR-FRET Used in Drug Discovery?

This post is Part 2 of a two-part blog series. Read part 1: What is a TR‑FRET assay and how is it used in drug discovery? In a previous blog post, we covered the fundamental principles of Time-Resolved Fluorescence (TR) Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (TR-FRET), including how long-lived lanthanide donors like europium enable high-sensitivity, “mix-and-read” assays. Because TR-FRET provides a ratiometric, proximity-based […]
