bioRN is hiring: Junior Communications & Event Manager (m/f/d) (80-100%), starting January 2027 or by arrangement
Turn your passion for life sciences into stories, connections and experiences!
Do you have a background in life sciences and a passion for communications?
Do you enjoy creating engaging content, connecting with different audiences, and bringing ideas to life?
At bioRN Life Science Cluster, we connect leading research institutions, global pharmaceutical companies, biotech start-ups and industry partners in one of Europe’s leading life science regions.
We are looking for a curious, creative, and motivated Junior Communications & Events Manager to join our small, dedicated team in Heidelberg.
You don’t need to be an experienced communications professional. What matters most is your understanding of the life sciences, curiosity about the needs and challenges of our ecosystem, and enthusiasm for communications and event management.
What you´ll do:
Content Creation & Digital Communications
- Create engaging content for our website, newsletters and social media channels.
- Help tell the stories of our members, their innovations and our life science ecosystem.
- Contribute fresh ideas to further develop bioRN’s communications and digital presence.
Events & Community Engagement
- Help plan, organize, and promote bioRN events – from small community gatherings to major conferences.
- Be part of the project team behind our flagship event, life – the biomedical convention, from initial planning to on-site execution.
- Engage with our members, speakers, and partners to create valuable networking experiences.
What you bring:
- A background in life sciences: A degree in biology, biotechnology, biomedicine, life sciences or a related discipline.
- A passion for communications: You enjoy writing, storytelling and creating content for different audiences and channels.
- An interest in events and networking: You like organizing, bringing people together and seeing projects come to life.
- A creative and curious mindset: You are interested in scientific developments, innovation and the challenges facing the life science industry.
- Strong organizational skills: You enjoy working on different projects, can prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail.
- A hands-on, collaborative attitude: You are proactive, reliable and enjoy contributing to a small team.
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken.
First experience in communications, social media, content creation or event organization is an advantage, but not essential. Your motivation, ideas, and willingness to learn matter most.
What we offer:
- A unique perspective on the life sciences: Gain insights into a dynamic ecosystem connecting cutting-edge research, innovative start-ups and industry players
- Room to grow: Explore the many facets of communications and event management, develop your skills, contribute your own ideas and gradually take ownership of your own projects.
- A diverse and meaningful role: Experience communications and event management first-hand, with opportunities to make a visible contribution.
- A small, collaborative team: Work in an open environment with short decision-making processes and direct involvement in projects.
- A strong professional network: Connect with scientists, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and innovators across the life science sector.
- An inspiring workplace in Heidelberg, at the heart of the Rhine-Neckar life science region.
