Hummingbird Diagnostics to Present Blood-Based RNA Biomarker Data in Stage III Lung Cancer at ESMO 2026
  • Study explores RNA biomarkers for prognostic and potential MRD assessment in locally advanced, non-resectable stage III lung cancer

More Information

HEIDELBERG, Germany, September 30, 2026 – Hummingbird Diagnostics GmbH, a molecular diagnostics company specializing in blood-based small RNA analysis for precision oncology, today announced that data from a new collaborative study will be presented at the ESMO Congress 2026 in Madrid, Spain.

Building on Hummingbird’s expertise in early cancer detection, the study explores whether RNA biomarker analysis may provide biological insights related to prognosis and molecular disease status in patients with locally advanced, non-resectable stage III lung cancer.

The work was conducted in collaboration with investigators from LungenClinic Grosshansdorf, Germany, and F.D. Roosevelt University General Hospital of Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. The findings will be presented at the congress.

Presentation details

Title: A Single-RNA Biomarker Prognostic/MRD Assay for Locally Advanced, Non-Resectable Stage III Lung Cancer
Presentation number: 4323P
Presentation type: Poster presentation
Category: Translational Research and Biomarkers
Date and time: Friday, October 23, 2026, 15:15-16:00 CEST

Greater Precision and Safety in Neurosurgical Procedures

A new surgical system at the Department of Neurosurgery at Heidelberg University Hospital helps surgeons precisely plan procedures on the brain, spine, and skull base, monitor them during surgery, and perform them with millimeter precision. The “Robotic Surgery Suite,” which cost approximately 1.6 million euros, combines live imaging, digital navigation, and robotic assistance directly in […]

Mitochondrial Protein Complexes: A Single Amino Acid Can Jeopardize Their Stability

Mitochondrial Protein Complexes: A Single Amino Acid Can Jeopardize Their Stability

Scientists from Heidelberg and Freiburg identify the mechanism by which proteins assemble into stable complexes in mitochondria A tiny processing step has far-reaching consequences for mitochondrial function: The removal of a single amino acid determines whether new proteins can assemble into stable complexes within these cellular powerhouses. This process is carried out by a specific […]
