PEPperPRINT Secures State Funding for Development of GlycoPlex Glycopeptide Array Platform

PEPperPRINT Secures State Funding for Development of GlycoPlex Glycopeptide Array Platform

Heidelberg, 15th of May 2026 – PEPperPRINT GmbH has successfully secured additional research and development funding from the innovation funding program “Invest BW” of the German state of Baden-Württemberg for the development of its new GlycoPlex platform, a high-throughput technology for disease-relevant glycopeptide analyses.

The funded project, titled “GlycoPlex – High-Throughput Platform for Disease-Relevant Glycopeptide Analyses”, focuses on the development of highly dense glycopeptide arrays designed to systematically investigate interactions between proteins and defined glycosylation patterns.

Glycoproteins play a central role in numerous biological processes and are key targets in cancer and infectious disease research. However, suitable analytical tools for their diagnostic and therapeutic characterization remain limited. With GlycoPlex, PEPperPRINT aims to address this challenge by establishing an innovative platform for the high-resolution analysis of protein-glycosylation interactions.

The GlycoPlex platform will enable researchers to:

  • Identify potential antibody biomarkers
  • Characterize therapeutically relevant protein-glycosylation interactions
  • Support the development of novel therapeutic molecules
  • Advance research in therapeutics, vaccines, and diagnostics

By enabling targeted investigation of disease-relevant proteins, the project directly contributes to the field of medical innovation and the development of next-generation biomedical solutions.

PEPperPRINT would like to thank Invest BW and the state of Baden-Württemberg for supporting this project and for their continued commitment to strengthening innovation and biomedical research in the region.

Cardiac Arrhythmias: New Defibrillator System Expands Treatment Options at UKHD

At Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD), there is a new treatment option for certain patients with severe cardiac arrhythmias: an implantable defibrillator in which the electrode—unlike in conventional defibrillators—is placed outside the heart and blood vessels. This protects the blood vessels. In addition, the system can correct some arrhythmias using mild electrical impulses before an electric […]

The Individual Genetic Background Shapes the Evolution of Cancer

The Individual Genetic Background Shapes the Evolution of Cancer

Why do cancers develop differently in different people—even when they are exposed to the same risk factors? An international research group, including the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), has now demonstrated in mice that an organism’s genetic makeup significantly influences the course of cancer development. The findings, now published in Nature, provide new insights into […]
