March put a spotlight on what drives the bioRN ecosystem: exchange, capital, and tangible progress.
From a highly engaging bioRN Lounge featuring the NAKO Health Study – opening new perspectives on the future use of health data – to the continued growth of our network with nine new members since January, the community once again demonstrated its strength. Read more
A particular highlight was the Private Investor Rising Stars Pitch Event – a highly curated format jointly organised with encourageventures e.V. and PALATINA Business Angels Rhein-Neckar e.V.. Bringing together leading scientists from the region with engaged investors, the event created exactly the kind of encounter space where innovation begins to translate into entrepreneurial activity. Participants emphasised the strong attendance and high quality of exchange, reflecting the continued growth of the Heidelberg ecosystem. Contributions from Eckart Würzner highlighted the region’s dynamic development.
At the same time, the region delivered clear signals of impact: major investments such as Roche’s new distribution center underline how innovation, industry and healthcare are increasingly converging in the Rhine-Neckar region. Read more
At the European level, bioRN marked a key milestone: 10 years of EIT Health Catapult – 10 editions, hundreds of innovators. Since its launch, the programme has supported over 300 health start-ups and helped raise more than €500 million in funding. As project lead, bioRN has now opened applications for the 10th edition, continuing to accelerate Europe’s most ambitious health innovators. If you’re a start-up in life sciences, medtech, or digital health with €500k+ in funding or revenue and aiming for at least €2M investment, EIT Health Catapult is for you.
