bioRN News July 2026
Dear *|FNAME|* *|LNAME|*,

Strengthening the entire life science value chain.:

Throughout July, bioRN continued to strengthen the Rhine-Neckar life science ecosystem across the entire innovation chain. From supporting entrepreneurs and connecting early-stage startups with international venture-building programmes, to shaping Europe's biotech agenda and creating platforms for scientific exchange, every initiative shared one common goal: enabling innovation to move forward.

Together with BioM and ESMT Berlin, we launched the Unified Hub, opening new opportunities for early-stage life science and health startups through the Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) Berlin – Health.
We welcomed Member of the European Parliament Hildegard Bentele to a roundtable, hosted by Ascendis Pharma, to discuss how Europe can strengthen its competitiveness through the European Biotech Act. read more here

And with the Call for Abstracts for life – the biomedical convention 2027, we invited researchers, innovators and industry experts from within and beyond our ecosystem to help shape a scientific programme focused on Biomedical Innovations and AI in Health. If you're planning your activities for 2027, now is the right time to become part of it.
- Secure your Early Bird ticket before 30 September.
- Reserve your exhibition space while prime locations are still available.
Submit your abstract and help shape the scientific program. Find more information about >>life - the biomedical convention<<  here.

Strengthening an innovation ecosystem means supporting every link in the value chain - not only through funding, entrepreneurship and policy, but also by creating opportunities for people to meet, exchange ideas and learn from one another.

Our monthly bioRN Lounge once again brought together PhD students, researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders from across the ecosystem. This month's speaker, Dr. Dave Madge, Vice President Discovery Services at WuXi AppTec, shared insights into Developing New Platforms and Workflows to Support Diversity in Drug Modalities, highlighting how innovative technologies are expanding the possibilities of modern drug discovery.

The same philosophy inspired our bioRN Member2Member session with Cytion, where participants explored the practical challenges of reproducible cell culture—from cell authentication and contamination prevention to everyday laboratory workflows. By openly sharing expertise and answering questions from the community, the session demonstrated how knowledge exchange between member companies strengthens the entire ecosystem. Find the interview here

Recognising the growing importance of laboratory automation and digitalisation, bioRN joined forces with BASF, 5-HT and BioLabs Heidelberg to establish the Rhine-Neckar Lab Automation Community. Through regular meetups hosted across the region - including the next gathering on 10 September at BioLabs Heidelberg - the community brings together researchers, technology providers and industry experts to exchange ideas, discuss common challenges and accelerate the adoption of connected laboratory technologies. more info here

We wish you a refreshing summer break ....
........ looking forward to seeing you back in September!:
